Kiwi Adventures – Day 2
It was frosty overnight at Lake Tekapo (April is autumn in NZ) and there was a blanket of low cloud over the lake in the morning.
After a wander down to the rather austere looking chapel perched on the side of the lake, we moved off towards Mount Cook. There is just one road to the bottom of Mount Cook National Park so we travelled it both ways this day. It follows the edge of Lake Pukaki a beautiful milky blue, glacial lake, covering an incredible 70 square miles.
The Wingman hanging out with Sir Ed at The Hermitage, Aoraki Mount Cook Village.
Our first sight of a black swan. I got quite excited about this… I love swans!
The day ended in Omarama. A small town in the Mackenzie Basin. Gateway to the Lindis Pass.
Day 3 – Wanaka, Queenstown & Te Anau…
